superstition ain't the way
Happy Friday the 13th! Are you superstitious?
Stevie Wonder's voice is singing in my head... 'very superstitious, writings on the wall...'🎶😂
But I'd love to know, if you fear Friday the 13th, what has happened to you today? Did you stub your toe? Did you narrowly avoid a car accident? Did something bad happen at work or with your family today?
I know a lot of people buy into the fright but I like to think anytime Friday the 13th comes around that it's actually a lucky day (not an unlucky one).
And I just started doing this a few years ago.
Because one Friday the 13th I had an awful experience. I woke up dreading the day just because you know, it was Friday the 13th. I was especially nervous because I'd taken off work for a Skype interview for a new job that I wasn't really qualified for.
To calm my nerves, I decided to do a load of laundry. Usually my washer is super quiet so I didn't think twice, but suddenly during my interview, I hear this crazy noise from my laundry room. It was really distracting and I remember thinking 'Dang it, Friday the 13th strikes again!!'
And the best part - once the interview was over and I went to unload my laundry, I couldn't get into my laundry room. You guessed it, my washer had been shaking so much that it moved in front of the door. I could barely fit my hand inside.
I remember crying in frustration and blaming the blasted Friday the 13th. Then maintenance came and luckily after a long struggle, they were able to finagle the washer back against the wall so we could open the door.
That was also the day my trash bag broke on the way to the dumpster. And I tripped majorly in public.
And after that, I thought 'NO MORE!! I can no longer be a victim to Friday the 13th!!'
And you know what? Ever since I decided that Friday the 13th would be a good day, it has been.
So are you ready to decide that Friday the 13th is a lucky day for you? Double tap if you're ready!
